To honour local women who have made significant contributions to arts, culture, sports, and community in Vancouver, the Vancouver Park Board has established the Remarkable Women poster series. Each year, the individual stories of a select group of women from diverse backgrounds and abilities are featured on posters, which highlight the important roles each woman plays in our communities. Click here for more info on the poster series: http://vancouver.ca/people-programs/remarkable-women.aspx.

Theme for 2013: Women who contribute to their communities through an involvement with food. Has a woman in your community inspired you by her efforts in providing, producing, preparing, advocating, or teaching about food? If the answer is yes, nominate her today and join us in honouring and celebrating these remarkable women in our community. Click here for guidelines and nomination forms. http://vancouver.ca/people-programs/nominate-someone.aspx
